TKP New York: Our COVID-19 Protocols and Procedures

TKP New York’s New Health Protocols for COVID-19

TKP New York Conference Center takes great pride in our venue and our guest’s health and safety is our highest priority. In response to ongoing developments related to the Novel Coronavirus, we have re-evaluated our health protocols to reflect CDC and NYC regulations and guidelines on the best methods to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Our new protocols will ensure extra consistent sanitization of our facilities, inform staff and guests of our protocols, and outline how we will handle employees who are unwell. During this time, we will also use social distancing between staff and other events we may have in our space.

We have always strived to maintain a clean space and have always properly sanitized when necessary. The following procedures have always been followed by TKP staff ever since we opened our doors.

These procedures include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly checking on events and maintaining a clean facility Providing protective equipment (e.g. gloves, sanitizing wipes) to staff and guest should they need or request it

  • Regularly washing hands when coming into contact with another person who may be ill or when dealing with food or beverages

  • Mopping and disinfecting all surfaces within the facility periodically

  • Spraying antibacterial disinfectant in the facility rooms and stairways regularly

  • Sanitizing and cleaning the door knobs and any surfaces that people would touch periodically

  • Proper care and disinfecting for equipment that may come into contact with any personnel staff or guest

  • Sterilizing and cleaning all equipment for food and beverage such as coffee air pots and percolators everyday

  • Wearing gloves at all times when handling any sort of food or beverage.

  • Completely sterilizing and wiping down tables where food will be present

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we would like to take extra precautions to ensure our clients and staff are safe and up to date with our health regulations. The following procedures have been added to the previous list.

They include, but are not limited to:

  • Limiting the number of areas where food can be served (either in one room or one area only in each room)

  • Adhering to social distancing while food is being set up (only two staff at a time)

  • Updating new future protocols with up-to-date information from the NYC mayor's office and the CDC to maintain knowledge on the virus and practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19

  • Releasing information as we get it to keep clients and staff informed on developments in the handling of COVID-19 by our building or the City of New York

  • Extra sterilizing handrails and doorknobs every 2 hour for both sets of stairs

  • Extra sterilizing of our rooms before and after client use Limiting times when beverage stations are refilled

  • Reporting any cases and checking on anyone who may be ill and providing information on preventing the spread of any contagions

  • Stocking reception desk with hand sanitizer dispensers for both staff and guest

The following procedures asked of our clients include, but are not limited to:

  • Washing hands for 30 second or more (keeping sure to wash under fingernails)

  • Keeping hands away from the eyes, nose and mouth

  • Keeping a small hand sanitizer bottle on person at all times

  • Making sure to wipe down any products or items before going outside

  • Following the directions of our staff in case of an emergency or update by the CDC

Here at TKP, the safety of our clients and staff is our utmost concern. These protocols have been put into place to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
